Shrimp Gumbo, Shrimp Stirfry, Shrimp fettucine..ok Forest how about this?

Our shrimps....DEAD...boiled.....our tank temp got so hot this weekend that the 2 Cleaner Shrimps didn't survive...now how upsetting is that? We loved those little guys...but MAN o MAN did they smell bad when we took them out!!!! Oh well, once we get the heat trouble figured out...then we will replace them...the Coral didn't take too well to the heat either....2 out of 5 of the heads are toast....DAMN But our Coral Banded shrimp is hanging in there...Anemones are ok too...... so far..and no dead fish..I really do wonder about this tank..maybe there was a different reason for her to sell it?!

Dude....like totally psychedelic man!

Went to Victoria today...got to visit Safari and Hillside. Some pretty cool fish there....tempted by a couple....OK bought a Mandarin Goby. We have so many copepods that it should feed him well for a long time....and he also eats frozen brine shrimp quite well too.....seems very fat and active so again...another prayer! The Tang is lookin good today...what you can see of him as he is very very shy. Cora also had a really nice pair of Maroon Clowns...no really a pair. You should see how tiny the male is compared to the female...HOLY! If all the above survive....hmmmm if they are still at Hillside in 2 weeks when we go to Vic again...then they may just come home with us! Will have to see! Let's just hope that these survive...as we are takin it SLOW!

Phil too!

Took Phil and Jamie to visit Ken and Linny and check out "our" new arrivals. Our puffer....very very cute...still not up to par so has to stay longer...our Kole Tang is excellent..so we took him home. We were going to take a little yellow wrasse home too but he is just too small. So we will wait and get a larger one. In goes the Tang and here goes a prayer! Phil and Jamie I think enjoyed themselves. And at least now Phil knows them and can buy really good fish from them.

TOO COOL! Ken and Linny have a pair of Tomato Clowns...and they spawned! Wouldn't that be the cats meow! They are still stuck to the rock but you can see their eyes so in a couple of days they should be free swimming. TOO COOL!

1...2...3...4...

And then ... there were 4! Yup you read right...4 anemones. We gotta have something in this tank that works...guess its Anemones. They all look good and are eating well. How many are we gonna end up with???

1st rule in maintaining a salt water tank is check your levels, check your levels and if all else fails...CHECK YOUR LEVELS SARAH! OOPS, checked my levels, Ammonia/Nitrite/Nitrate all good....ALK??? NOT GOOD... a little low...ok a LOT low...so panic sets in and I add all the stuff...and wait....it won't hurt anything but the corals...feather dusters and it is just better to be right...and check the CA too...LOW...not as bad as the ALK but...teaches me a lesson to check them every 2 weeks and make adjustments because so much is growing in there they are using it all up. The pH is good though so...caught it in time. Good thing too...our fish have arrived at Ken and Linny's. 1 Tang, 1 Lawnmower Blenny, a couple of Yellow Wrasse, and more! YAY...so the wrasses go in 1st to help with bug control...then in goes the tang to get rid of the "lawn" that is creeping out of control...and last the Blenny for now. Just cuz he's not really fast and is on the bottom all the time....hopefully NOT Isopod food. AAAAHHH sure is scary to add more fish. Our Chromis will be in within a couple of weeks. YAY!

One....Dead....Worm

we lost a giant feather duster yesterday.....he was placed in the sand....but algae grew into his tube...and he didn't like that ...... so his crown deteriorated, and finally he came out of his tube and died...the shrimp enjoyed him quite a bit though....YUCK!
