Green and Gold

We're both still alive....one Molly and one Chromis....they "school" together at times....we have ordered from Ken and Linny; 4 more Chromis, 1 yellow wrasse to eat bugs, 1 Tang...not sure of the kind they are ordering but it should be cool...we're a bit limited because of the length of the tank but we need something to eat the algae....it is growing out of control on one rock and spreading to others...Tangs are great for algae control! We still get a bit panicky that we will find them dead in the morning...but they both eat really well, and don't seem to have any troubles....the Chromis is a bit on the rough side...looks like he and his buddy who "passed away" fought a bit in the bag...and the scales still aren't 100%. Linny actually was going to bring us our yellow wrasse the other day...but after 1 hour of trying to catch him in the tank he is in she gave up...kept hiding in the sand. And there's lots of live rock in his tank too....so a bit saddening..we were so looking forward to adding him on Monday. Oh well, will have to wait until their next shipment. OOOOH it will have our Puffer in it too!

Green Goo

K, one of the Green Chromis looked like he was a bit on the weak side compared to the other.....turns out...he WAS. Now, he is dead....shrimps were making quick work of him...no really, there is NOTHING left...when I checked there was 1/2 green body...then 2 hours later...nothing. Some happy shrimp I bet...I actually think he got stuck to the powerhead. He had quite a wound on his side...you guess. The other is eating like crazy and FAT! The molly is doing great too. He is eating and swimming around just like normal.

.We're getting brave now...added 2 green chromis to the tank...lets say a prayer!

I TOLD you I was OK

Figured today we would get up and look for the carcas. Hmmmm....can't find a Molly carcas to remove because he is swimming like a normal fish around the tank, which he hadn't really done before...and is eating. WEIRD. I still don't give him much of a chance...I mean with our luck? But at least he has lived another day than we expected! WEIRD...did I mention that?

I'm ok, no really, I'm ok

Yah right....the Molly is trying to die. He has done fairly well we thought....eating but doesn't swim around much.....Damn...thought maybe we may have had it licked...oh well...we got a video of him dyin...but weird he is still eating.....oh well...was worth a try

Double Double

Have a look at our 2....er 3 anemones. 3??????? YUP 3. The big anemone at the front has split into 2 anemones. NO REALLY! We can't keep fish in here but everything else just thrives....WEIRD! Ken was kindof shocked too. Very strange. And both halves are nice size and eating. Hmm.....guess we'll breed shrimp and anemones. And everyone says that they are hard to keep...maybe they are and we just happened to be lucky with this.....We gotta be lucky with some livestock in there....very very cool!

Molly

I'm sure he wouldn't approve of being called "Molly" but he is a molly. Gold Sailfin actually. Too much attitude in the upstairs tank and I think his girlfriend is going to die.......so in he goes....let's see him kick the snot out of an Isopod. I think this will be a good test for the sand removal!

Boiled, scramled or over-easy???

The shrimp (who are thriving!) have eggs! The female "Fran" has eggs all along her belly. WILD! Ken has had them lay eggs but never had a successful hatch as there were too many predators in the tank....oooooh at least the tank may do something good....we could raise cleaner shrimp?!
